Extended Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) capabilities into Android Automotive, enabling native support for Vehicle Signal Specification (VSS) and bridging automotive signal standards with Android middleware.
What I did
- Developed custom VHALs, system services and Car Services to propagate VSS signals through the Android middleware stack.
- Led a 6-member team through scrums, sprint planning and iterative research work to expand SDV support.
- Completed a cross-platform VSS Simulation Tool (C++/Qt) with dynamic UI generation based on signal types, enabling rapid validation on Windows and Linux.
- Delivered VSS-to-VHAL and ARXML-to-VSS converters, ensuring compatibility with AUTOSAR and industry standards.
- Integrated SOME/IP, Franca IDL and the Eclipse Kuksa Data Broker to validate SDV use cases in hypervisor-based AAOS bring-up.
